IÔm going to England, and I donÔt know if yours electrical hook ups at Campsites are similar to the spanish, french,?? ones. Can somebody help, please.

In the UK we use the blue (fairly large)3 pin plug with the pins encased inside a plastic shroud. In France at least we mostly use a small one with the pins exposed. Go to www.towsure.co.uk, electrical, mains connections to see a picture. Happy holiday. Theo

The other big difference, especially compared to France, is that the positive pin, marked + and coloured either red or brown, is always positive and the negative pin, marked - and coloured black or blue, is always negative. This usually confuses visitors from France where the opposite in normally true. You'll also find that electrical safety is taken very seriously in GB with sites having to have their electrical installations checked regularly and certificates issued. Enjoy your stay.
Positive should always be brown and negative always blue, zbungle, regardless of whether you are in the UK or on the Continent, zbungle. The main difference is that, in general, most relatively low current electrical equipment on the Continent is not earthed (in fact their plugs are reversible), so it's immaterial which way round it is connected. Because of this, the Continental caravanner doesn't have to take care to watch for correct polarity.
