Not much to say about it. Usual C.C. standards. Easy to get to on the outskirts of town and surrounded by trees, it seems to have been an old quarry. Some pitches are slightly sloping. Nice site and at that price you can't go wrong.

Oops, didn't see the Butlins bit. Thought that was a bit cheap for the C.C. :O(

In that case, although Butlins is just up the road from the club site, I aint got a clue.

The C.C. as just bought Brynich site at Brecon though :O)

Hi Marky P

We stayed there last year, the site is right at the back of all the guests studio/appartments,behind where the staff's accommodation is or you may picture it better if I say right at the top of the guest car park, almost parallel to Tescos.

The feild is not that bad with lots of rabbits and plenty of foxs running around at night.

The ladies / mens toilets are more of a porto cabin, the ladies showers had recently been tiled and i think the mens was next to be done.

Butlins was having a refurbishmnet under the big Sky dome, the main arena ( I think that's what they call it ) wants refurbising badly i.e. carpets torn and the chairs needed refurbising badly.

Other wise a good base to explore from.

Stoped off at Brynich last Saturday to have a look, it was snowing at the time the Beacons were covered. Was you on site then? Is that when you heard about the buy out?

Not sure what we paid last year, but i did think it was rather expensive, so i was hoping that the caravan club prices would be cheaper. I have looked on the caravan club website and it says that book direct with the site for this year, so i think maybe it is brynich prices again for this year and then the caravan club will put in wardens for next year, i was thinking you won't be able to tell until next year, but i may be wrong

No Alyson, someone mentioned it @ the Carry on Camping forum. It mentions it on the C.C. website, you can now book online.

Regarding the Brynich site. I expect the Caravan Club will do what they usually do and close the site at the end of the season or as soon as they receive planning permission for redevelopment, be it large or small.

I think i am right in saying this will be the only C.C. site in the Brecon Beacons with full facilities.

It sounds like a good addition to the club network.

I thought it might have been a managed site but it seems not because if they are managed you have to book direct with the site. Gill is probably right, they are following on with the pricing for this year because of those who have already booked. Time will tell :O)
