Buying a caravan in italy

Hi

I am going to italy next week to buy a caravan from a caravan depot we visited last year.

Does anyone know if there are any rules or regulation I need to be worried about.

Joanne

Hi Joanne, regs and rules concerning what?

Assuming you are bringing the van back here to the uk?

If so,although do not quote me,as long as you have documentation to show the van is yours [bill of sale] i do not see a problem.although beware the lower speed limits in Italy and i dare say other places too when towing....

If you are going to tow it back to the UK, it'll have to be registered in Italy first and have Italian number plates. There may be arrangements whereby you can have Italian VAT (if payed in the first place) reimbursed when the caravan leaves the country. (I know you can when buying elsewhere, so I presume you can in Italy, too).

Hi Thanks

The caravan will be staying in Italy, they have storage depots there will take it to our choice of park prior to our arrival.

Just needed to know if there were any special rules about owning a caravan in italy.
