Ex demo's can be good value, but it all depends on the deal. As has been pointed out a demo caravan may well be a year older than the vans its is representing, so as a starting point, the depreciation that a 1 year old caravan should be knocked off without any question.
Secondly, as it has probably had may people poking around in it, it will effectively be in 'used' condition. This should also cause there to be a further reduction of about 10%.
And last but not least, the VAT element is possibly up fro grabs. Some businesses can claim the whole of the Vat back for demonstration goods, as at the end of the model run the demo unit is no longer current, and its values in some financial plans is written off.
In my opinion there should be a discount of about 33% of the new book price for a one year old demo caravan- and the dealer is stall making a healthy profit.
Quite a number of respondents have suggested shopping around, and I agree but do bear in mind the costs of travelling away from your area to get what appears to be a good deal. Any warranty matter may need you to return the caravan to the place you purchased it, and if that is any great distance, factor in the cost of fuel meals, accommodation, loss of earnings, and general inconvenience. What might be a
