Hi

my first voyage onto here!!

Have just turned electric on to charge battery before we go for well earned break to Essex and have noticed that a unit attached to the rear of the battery box is making a buzzing noise. Never heard it before. It has heavy black cable with a white connector and another connector with red and black wires into it.

What is this box? Is it getting ready to pack up?

It is an ADRIA 532 UP. Had it 3 years, first problem with it.

Thanks Wayne.

If your battery is really low in charge, could it be your battery charging under load?

I am no expert, but if you disconnect a battery lead and the noise stops or goes quiter I would guess that is what it is....

Hope this helps.............Chris.

I think the battery may be defunked...!!!

It has magic eye and it indicates, I think, that it is out of charge!

It is probably 3 years old so I expect I need a new one.

Thanks again.

So is that what the annoying buzzing noise is. Since we got our caravan last year the buzzing noise coming from the Zig unit has driven us mad.

As we used to have an electric coolbox the noise of the fan drowned out the buzz, but now we have replaced it with a more quiet fridge the buzzing is driving us mad.

So am I right in thinking that if we replace the battery that annoying buzz will stop? Its

The Zig unit should be quiet, a buzzing indicates a fault, either in the unit or elsewhere, maybe the battery.

You need to get an engineer to look at it for you

Thanks for the reply. Its been making that noise since we got the caravan and three different engineers have seen it and said it was normal!

Going to get a new fuseboard fitted so will ring the guy we now use and see what he has to say.

Thanks again.

OK, silly question, but why are you having a new fuseboard fitted? And do you mean mains or 12V?

Hello Wayne,i,ve had this noise from our Adria to.I presumed it was the charging unit in the deep cupboard but only made the noise when we switched the interia lights on (12v).I think its correct.Seems to have stopped now.Dont think the units are the best quality either respectfully.
