C C C site

Hi Mick,

Never stayed there, as we live close by. We drive past the site once a week as we train our dogs in the barn of the stables next door - it looks fine from the outside !!

You'll love the area - very scenic with lots of castles & little villages close by - loads to do.

Cheers,

Jim

Have stayed on it but admit it was several years ago. Very good site and the toilet facilties excellent. Slightly out of town so a car is needed. If I remember there is a humpbacked bridge at the edge of town and is the main way to the main road. Just take care.

Hi stayed on this site 3 years ago the facilities were first class, And if its still the same wardens you'll have no problems really helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The site is a little out of town but there is a nice walk which take you through a farm and over the river and only about a mile and half from town by foot. And Barnard castle is a nice area.

Been there a few times, nice site we will be there again this year. The road in from the main road is narrow with passing place`s which is OK unless you meet some idiot that was coming in to fast with a van on the back at 11.00 am and I had to stop on the hill on my way out with the van on the back. Another good reason for leaving before 12.00 noon and not arriving before 12.00 noon

Hi Mick

Hope you enjoy your visit to our beautiful county, bit biased as we live about 10 miles out of 'Barney' as it is know in the area, if you are going to the site and have to go through the town take care as it is a typical county market town, the bridge in question just needs care, it has lights on so only one way traffic, we cross it regularly with the 'van on our way to the A66 from home.

I also live quite close to Barnard Castle so have never stayed at the site but have heard very good reports about it. The town is really good with plenty to see and do and the countryside in the area is lovely.

The Caravan Club are opening a new site in August which they say is a 10 minute walk along the river to the town. We may just be tempted to try it for a weekend when it opens

Here's a link to some information
