Hi wendy -Did the HSM say you could have gone on the site if you had a smaller unit? As you can see we are hoping the C&CC are going to join us in some dialogue on the pitch allocation system.Have a good weekend.

I think, from Ruth's comments, you can see exactly what the problem is with both C&CC and CC. Although still called Clubs and largely financed by member's subscriptions neither are in fact Clubs in any sense of the word. Wardens are now called Holiday Site Managers; Ruth speaks of " a high standard of customers service" and being "an outdoor leisure organisation". Both clubs have become very corporate and provide ego trips for those at the top. If you write a letter to either Club you usually don't get a reply. When members write to the "letters" section of the magazine any query or point raised is left unanswered. I think it's time for both Clubs to start thinking about their members again.

Peter, to answer your question, they definately specified twin axle caravans, irrespective of size!

My other gripe is that, in refusing our outfit, they could easily have accepted another member with a single axle caravan, front wheel drive car. If he, being inexperienced in reversing, churned the grass up, I suppose that would have been OK!!!

Hi Jane and Hi C&CC (yes we know your out there) Yes it is rather quiet. What a shame that the club can't or won't respond to some of the people who have asked them specific questions on this thread. I thought Ruth was willing to enter into dialogue regarding pitch allocation, obviosly the word from on high has ruled otherwise. The club is obviously monitoring this forum now, and so we must assume that they think we will all go away if they don't reply, or that we are a load of cranks who they can afford to ignore. They may of course be right!

Peter, you have been on this topic like a leaky tap since July. Maybe it is time you put a new washer in it or a "stopper".

I have stayed at 5 C&CC sites this ?summer and they have all given me a choice of pitch and been most helpful.

If you have a specific "gripe" then kinly take it up with them direct as from reading all the threads on this majority of people are quite happy.

You cannot please all of the people all of the time. If you think the CC are better then fine join them and give the rest of us some peace!

Hi, a few things regarding Alan J comments. I would dispute his quote that the majority of the people on this thread are 'quite happy.' In fact if he looks back he will find the opposite. The thread has only been going just over three weeks, a fairly short time compared with some other threads. I think you will find that Peter has said earlier in the thread that he is also a member of the CC. I think there has been some fairly good comments from several different people on this thread and it obviously has still some way to run. On August 14th Michael & Mark both made comments which I think were very relevant and would Alan J care to answer their comments? If Alan J's comments are correct about each time he has been out this year that he has been able to choose his pitch then really he is advocating what many people have been saying - let people have a choice.

The choice was given in the context of "what type of pitch booked" and "what was currently available within that type".

All of which was good.

In Pevensey I had booked standard pitch no EHU for a Caravan which put me in amongst the tents. My caravan made a splendid wind break in the high winds. I did not expect the warden to put me onto a service pitch or any other kind of special treatment which you lot seem to want.

To save myself any further frustration with such a bunch of moaners I have forthwith deleted this forum from my PC as in good old British fashion you are not happy unless moaning about something!!!!!!!!

I will hazard an educated guess and state that Ruth is the official Public Relations Officer for the C&CC. This is based on a comments in another magazine.

That said, it does seem an awful shame that the club is inwilling to particpate in this thread and enable sensible dialogue over at least one issue that seems to raise it's head on all most every similar forum on the net. It also (as I stated ealier in the thread) now does make it seem the Officers of the C&CC really do not have any real respect for, or desire to resolve, members issues.

"Pride cometh before a fall", guys...

With the approach the club is taking, these issues can only grow in size and levels of unhappiness.

I have beeen trying to decide if I should join the C&CC or rejoin the CC. Faced with this attitude the answer is obvious. Whilst *only*

I agree alan, isn't it sad when an adult throws a tantrum in a forum. It makes one wonder what he does in real life if someone disagrees with him or he can't get his own way. :O(

HI Just a thought, but would anybody be prepared to pay extra to be able to choose their pitch?- they then might consider dropping the much disliked early arrival fee.
