C&CC Reward Points

Hi All

The C&CC, as you know, give out 'reward points' for each night you spend at one of their sites, which you can redeem against subsequent visits. Huzzah!

Mind, the small print says that you can only claim ONE night per visit. Humph!

The gripe I have is this.

I've collected, say thirty 'points' on my card. I go to another site (peak season, so four 'points' per night), stay for nine nights (that's thirty-six 'points'!!) BUT I've left my card at home.

'Can I have another card?'

'Of course, Sir! Here you are.'

'Can I use this in conjunction with the thirty points I've already accrued on my other card, thus making sixty-six points?'

'Er...no, Sir. The two cards are, in fact, separate and cannot be used together.'

Can anyone explain WHY this is?

Bad form, methinks, Messrs Camping & Caravanning Club....bad form indeed.

At the Spring Bank Holiday I tried to use up 20 "miles" from my 2007 passport with 20 from my 2008 passport to be told that I could not combine them. I was very annoyed because it was by then too late to use the 20 from 2007 which were effectively wasted. I contacted Customer Services at the C&CC and their attitude was "Tough!!" The rules are that you can not combine 2 passports although nobody I spoke to could give my a good reason for this stupid rule, nor tell me where it is published - certainly not on the passport or in the C&CC Guidebooks. It's not as if the way we "earn" the points is any different, especially in Mark Mac's case where they are earned in the same season. I found the attitude of the so called Customer Services person extremely off-hand and rude, and also the person in the Sites department.
