C260 wiring

Evening all.

We have purchased a van and the c260 toilet doesn't flush.
I've been in the building trade most of my life and fixed my cars where needed, so I'm not a novice but my knowledge only goes so far, and I've never touched one of these toilets.

What I've learnt so far is that the pump and switch work fine, but there is no power running to the switch. I tested the switch by running a wire from the battery.

So I have removed the upright trim from within the cassett compartment and tested the wires attached to the circuit board. There is no live.
What I don't know is if those wires are the first ones coming into the van, or if the wires go to the switch first?

If they are the first wires, are they joined underneath the cassett housing?
If they aren't joined, then there is a break in the wiring, or possibly a dodgy fuse board...however, I am getting a live feed from the fuse in the fuse board.

Would love some help if there is anyone able to.

Many thanks
Lorne

You will have a master 12v switch (in my case on the panel by the door) that will allow any 12v appliances to work - lights, water pump and the loo flush. The fuse board on the distribution unit panel will also have a fuse for the loo. Furthermore there is (but not always) a fuse within the cassette compartment itself. Worth a try - sorry if this is underestimating your skills or knowledge!

Thanks for your reply

I have tried all of the above, unfortunately none of it worked.
There is no live feed from the cassette Area up to the switch, it seems like there is a faulty wire/connection from the fuseboard to the toilet.

I would like to get underneath the cassette housing to see if there is a connection, but it doesn't look easy to remove....

The connector is under the small plastic plate in the front right hand corner as I replied on another forum you have posted on previously,

Have you done everything Audio Rob advised?

Remove the toilet cassette from its compartment. Look to the very rear and you will see a small fuse. The fuse holder connections get corroded in this hostile environment.
Remove the fuse and clean the holder contacts with emery paper and electrical contact spray. Use a new fuse or clean the existing making sure it hasn't blown.
99% it's this fuse holder that causes the problem . See the photoIMG_1206.jpeg

Hi Rob,

Yes, I have tried everything.
Ours is the newer toilet which doesn't have the fuse at the back of the toilet, it is wired to the fuseboard directly.

There is no 12v power to the toilet at all, I traced the lack of power back to where the wire comes up into the cassette housing.
Now I just don't know where that cable is dead from.

Birdman above has helped in regard to which cable is the main one coming up into the housing, I just can't get the trim off which the wire comes out of...

The c250 and c 260 are different as I said the fuse for c260 is the pump fuse on the consumer unit, you haven’t said what caravan it is,in but if a Swift the cable runs back to the consumer unit at floor level along the side. Depending on layout of the caravan often running behind the fridge if that is on the same side
