I haven't managed to push a peg through my caravan cable but after careful measuring I did manage to bash a floor board nail through an 8mm central heating pipe at home once. (Couldn't have managed it again even if I tried). But the biggest mistake was to pull it out again. Black water sprayed over everything!

If you have a neat and tidy routine when setting up or breaking down you set-up you're less likely to have mishaps or lose bits and bobs than if you have you gear streen about or thrown under the van willy nilly.

What does happen with any couiled up cable where a current is apssing through is that a electro magnetci field is created and if strong enouh will affect certain components within a specified rradius, i.e. a CRT TV.
I went on a caravan rally once where a marquee was put up. some hours later it was full of water eventhough it was a dry day. Seemed some joker had driven a steak through the site water pipe.

he should be called Sir Laugh a Lot.
At a max of 16 amps you would need one very tight coil and be at about 600v . He suggested a coil bore of about 6" and aprox 450 winds.
