Just obtained the Cadec Eazi Chef Deluxe, very impressed.Just a few questions for you out there who are already experts.

1-How do you re-pack all the bits into that bag.(I did not un-pack it) and the gas conection seems to poke out and may get damaged.Perhaps you could give step by step instructions please.

2-From the instructions, you seem to need the fat collecting tray all the time, but the heat deflector only when using the bbq griddle,is this correct?.

Any info would be helpfull.

Thanks

Hi Roy

You should have an instruction booklet. Instructions on storage are on page 16 of the booklet dated 11/05.

Although the booklet says you only need to use the deflector for the barbeque grill, when I contacted Cadac in S Africa they told me the instructions have been modified but the booklet hasn't yet been updated. They told me there should have been a sticker on the reversible grill to say that for new models - 2007 - the deflector should also be used. This is because the gas regulator has been altered and the heat is now more powerful than for pre 2007 models. If you don't use the deflector for the grill the non stick surface may get damaged. The gas should never be at its highest either when using this reversible grill either.

Hope this helps.

I should also have mentioned that I always remove the hose and regulator when I pack the bbq away - the man from SA said that was best to do as well

Thanks for the info, seems about right. It was very hard to fit the hose even with fairy liquid on it so will be a pain to remove it every time,as I plan to use the BBQ alot.

Hi Roy

You don't remove the hose directly - yes that would be difficult as it should be a tight fit. You unscrew the bit the hose is attached to which is very easy.

If you do need to remove the hose ever, or fit a new one, a warm hairdryer does the trick beautifully.

That makes it easier,I knew I was missing something.Do you need a spanner or does it just unscrew by hand?.

Also the instruction book is rather vague dont you think?

No you don't need a spanner - just tightening by hand is sufficient.

And yes, the handbook is rather vague which is why I emailed cadac.

Thanks for that, you might just have saved me from a loss of street cred.
