There was a topic on-here recently re cadac and how good they were and how difficult they were to clean, I don't want to re start the long debate about the merits or otherwise of them but just thought I would post my personal opinion, I've just got home from 2 weeks in Dorset where I used mine to cook breakfast of sausage, bacon, mushrooms, eggs and tomatoes all of which I cooked entirely on the cadac, I reckon over the two weeks we also had around 8 or so BBQ's with all the usual meats and one or 2 not so usual, during this time I mostly made do with giving the cadac a quick wipe with kitchen roll and covering it over ready for it's next use, I did once after a busy BBQ take it to the on site washing area and gave it a half hearted wash in not so hot water which wasn't the best at dissolving the grease but was good enough, having now unpacked I decided to give all the bits a proper clean, 15 mins in a bowl of hot soapy water using a nylon scourer followed by a final run thru the dishwasher and it's as good as new and ready for it's next outing, cooking on it was also more than satisfactory once I had got the hang of which bits to use and when, I would definitely give it 10/10 on all counts.

Cook everything on the Skottle with a Non Stick Linner, take it off and wash in soapy water in the sink then hang up to dry. No Probs.

Have to say the pizza stone is easy to clean and encourages home made pizza rather than the shop bought muck. MMMMMMMMM, lovely.

we love our cadac its not been used much over the last yr but this yr we,ve used it for barbies, breakfasts etc. as for cleaning it. A quick wipe over with kitchen roll is all it takes. After several uses it goes in the kitchen sink at home, hot soap water and a scrubber comes up lovely. Really got to enjoy our barbies now.

This season we "discovered" our scottel afer 3/4 years of leaving it at home to save weight. Certainly cooks breakfast a treat especially the eggs which were always hit and miss on the grill plate. Noticed the post about using same with the teflon sheet so will check this out next trip in Sept.

Paul - just wondering how you find the skottel for cooking stir frys etc. Does the food stay in OK? It looks quite shallow in comparison to a wok or even the paella pan.

Thanks for your review. It is good to hear other experiences using the Cadac. We adopt a cleaning regime similar to yours and have no big problems keeping it clean tbh.

skottle is OK and will do enough for 4 just or 2 easily, I have now just bought the paella pan and will be giving that a try in September.
