Bought one this year but have never got the ignitor to work so have ignited with a match throughout this season.

Didnt buy it locally so it will be a bit of a pain to return.

Has anyone else out there had the same problem and if so how did you resolve it?

hi paul ,had a problem with mine ,it ignited the first few times then failed after contacting riversway leisure(good firm)they told me to check that the wire from the button had not gone to earth ,ie melted onto the body of the bbq mine had and you could see it sparking (in darkness). twisting the wire to make it taught between the button and the sparker cured mine give it a try? jim

Jim,

Thanks to your advice to view in the dark, have established the unit is shorting from the switch body to the pan. No obvious causes so have contacted the dealer accordingly.

mine fails the igniter gets baked on grease which stops spark jumping in right place,have drilled hole underneath to get at screw and remove it without removing burner then dose it with oven cleaner shame as rest of cadac seems well made

Brought one this year, used throughout the summer in the garden and as the main cooking unit whilst on a camping holiday in france and have never had a problem. (brought from riversway)
