Yeast dumplings? Never heard of them, how do you make them Wendy? Is it just like a bread dough?
It is bread dough, Sue. Because I'm lazy and can't be bothered to weigh things out, I'll buy a bread kit - white, of course, stick it in the bread maker on a dough setting, when it's ready, knock it out, then decide how many dumplings you want - not forgetting they get considerably bigger when you cook them, and use the rest of the dough for rolls. I generally steam mine, but you can cook them on top of the stew if you like! They are really yummy, not a fatty stodgy texture like suet ones!

Thanks Wendy, I might give that a go then.....ahem, I make my own bread though, not from a kit!!!

pmsl (Steve does too, he's better at it than me, he kneads it better).

My wife also makes bread using all the rquired ingrediants but then uses a bread maker on a 4 hour setting -the baking smell and the end result to me are the same as when my mother made bread from first principles.
