Do you think I could exchange a 7kg empty calor butane bottle as a return for a full 6kg calor propane bottle? They are about the same size so I would have thought there would be no issue with accepting the empty butane for the exchange.

Welcome to the forum Tenpole, hope your caravan goes well for you, in reply the bottles are in the same group so the dealer should exchange them for you. Don't get sucered in for a lite bottle just now, still a supply problems .

I dont know what a "lite" bottle is but will avoid. This would be a second bottle that I would be putting in the gas front locker so I am not worried about reducing weight.
Thanks for the link looks as though exchange would be ok.

........I have done what you propose with no problems.
I was given a full Butane cylinder and regulator and after emptying it by using it on my caravan,I swapped it for a Propane cylinder of the same size.

I have just exchanged a Calor, 15 kg Butane for a 13 kg Propane, I use this for theGarden. BBQ, £25.65 or 13 kg, but 6 kg in the calor lite £21 60.
How do they justify that. Going to complain to Calor.
Mr. GRUMPY.

I will have to find out prices from a local farm shop (in Brambledown if your are camping on Sheppey) which has the cheapest gas in the area.
I can only fit 6Kg bottles in the caravan, the 13kg are too large.
