Calor lightweight propane

Can anyone confirm that the price of the lightweight propane is over £18 compared with the £16 for the standard 6Kg propane.

If this is the case is not extorbitant. Surely a one off extra charge would have recouped the investment?

hymerman, your figures are correct, and imho a small price to pay for less noseweight when you have a swift group van.

I use maybe 2 bottles a year so

its consumer choice, the standard bottles are still available so no one is forced to but the light bottles. I agree with the above posts, I use around 2 bottles of gas a year and think the extra costs is little price for the beneifit. Had Calor increased all bottles I would have agreed but as the old bottles are still available at the lower price I can see no problem

And, of course the lightweights do have a built-in gauge which is useful.

Its worth paying the extra price , they are so light, no more strained back muscles trying to manover them into the front locker, also the onboard guage is great.

i love em,one of the best things to happen in caravanning.we can take two bottles now without much weight change,not all have gauges fitted as i have not seen one yet.i weighed one at home full.10 kgs or 22 lbs.depends on where you buy but the last one cost me

Yes, call your local CGD outlet on 0800 662 663 and they will be able to advise. Cylinders fall into two categories (see below), and may (subject to availability) be able to be exchanged for another cylinder within the same category free of charge. To exchange a cylinder for one in a different category, a charge may be applicable. Please contact your nearest Calor Gas outlet or call 0800 662 663 for details.

Category A:

Butane: 4.5kg, 6kg BBQ, 12kg, 13kg, 15kg

Propane: 3.9kg, 5kg Patio, 11kg, 13kg, 13kg Patio, 19kg, 47kg

12kg, 18kg and 46kg automotive / Liquid offtake cylinders

Category B:

Butane: 7kg

Propane: 6kg
