Calor are stopping their Lite 6kg cylinders I would like to know what others who use them are going to be using as the big point is the weight.
With my caravan loaded I can carry two of the lite ones but if i have two of the non lite one it may be to much ??

If you use lots of gas, carrying 2 bottles suggests you do, change to a refillable such as safefil. We have 1 calor lite that lasts 2 seasons. The Calor lite will still be available is my understanding.

...When I purchased a refill the other day, I was told that a new version would be on the market in 2018. Having got two full 6kg bottles, I am hoping we have enough to last us until they become available.

Calor, dealer said to me , confirmed by the webssite, that the lites wiĺ be fased out but the new steel ones will be a more controlled weight bottle, the old standard ones could vary by maybe 2 kg.
I am not personelly bothered, i will just carry one bottle unless the bottle in use is almost depleted.

We carry two just in case. Weight is always an issue with 5 of us but, we had the van weight upgrade so overall not too worried. What we do have a problem with is keeping the nose down to 100kg. Luckily our gas locker is in a central position so shouldn't be a problem.

However not too much to panic about as all they've done is stopped producing the bottle all those still in circulation are staying so for the time being and it's only next year until the new bottles should be filtering through.

Got a replacement yesterday from a Calor only dealer, he showed me the letter he had received from Calor informing him that the 'Lites' were being withdrawn and it suggested although didn't specify directly that as they got them back they would not be refilled, so they will become scarcer and scarcer to get hold of.

Just pleased I didn't pay the extortionate rental charge on the bottle :p :p

Unfortunately I needed to in order to get the noseweight down. :(
These were wasted on me. The difference between the lite and standard when full is 4.5 kgs. X2 max difference is 9kgs.
Is 9 so crucial that it takes many to the MTPLM limit. Nose load surely can be easily balanced by moving something aft of the axle.?
Being a dinosaur dog I still use the original reds
