Hi All. can anyone tell me how much I should be paying for a bottle of calor lite butane or propane, and is it cheaper than the BP version ,also, will I need a special regulator or will the old screw on types suffice. I,m new to the game and need to buy my first bottle for touring this easter.

As far as i am aware you can only get calorlight in propane, the difference in weight is quite alarming so for the extra few pounds it costs over the normal cylinder i think its worth it, we got ours in the isle of white which is usually more expensive than the main land and we paid about 18 pounds or pretty close to that anyway. the regulator is exactely the same as is the pipe on newer vans to the inbuilt regulator so no worries or expense there.

There is no such place in the UK.

There is, however, the Isle of Wight.

Trucker, I am not picking up on spelling, as such, but misnaming a place so badly is inexcusable, a bit like me calling you Kelvin, and you accepting it, or asking for a ticket to Town Centre and ending up in Towcester.

If one cannot name places correctly, what hope is there for reading road signs.

Reg, it is not my fault that the French have no direct translation for the Islands name, but then the French cannot even build a decent car.

Yes it should be, but as I said, I was not picking on spelling in general, or to be precise, punctuation, just the blatant mis spelling of a Place name.

Trev, being the owner of a supposedly (according to Renault)reliable, comfortable car that will enhance my driving experience, which it has, with 27 tow ins in the first year, and them taking 5, yes 5, YEARS to sort out the problem I will knock the French as much as I want, and have done in person to the MD at Renault.

Also your statement "they have good sites that we all or most of us use" is somewhat an overstatement. Not ALL caravanners have used sites in France, nor have "most", perhaps you have the figures to back up that claim?

Taken from What Car, How Reliable Is Your Car:http://www.whatcar.co.uk/news-special-report.aspx?NA=222866&EL=3180703#

From a list of 26, Renault came in at a wonderful position of 25, only being beaten to last place by Land Rover.

Unfortunately Trev, in the scenario I was talking about, yes I was right.

Ive been called worse, as for naming places I can quite clearly say "Isle of White" but alas when it is written it is spelt wrong. If I was going to the Isle I would indeed look for the sign but if I saw it was spelt slightly different to what I thought I would not drive past the sign!!

Misnaming is the same as mispelling when written isnt it.

Damian I too beleive that you are out of order to pull people up on the spelling. Is that really the job of a moderator, will we be banned for bad spelling next if so you wont have many customers on your site !!!

Damien, you are out of order ! it is not a moderators place to pick up on contributors spelling mistakes, do you really think a person is going to look at a road sighn for the isle of wight and think that cant possibly be the place becouse icemaker spelt it differently ?. the english language is the most difficult language in the world, white or wight just being one of the words that can so easily be miss used.

Now if it really concerns you why dont you take some of your time to get haymarket to place a spell checker on the forum, its really quite easy and much simpler than typing comments in word then pasting to the site or even just a facility to edit then when one reads back the post and realises that mistakes have been made they can be corrected (like most other forums).

"sign" see its easy to miss type and then realise but with no method of editing its not easy to correct.
