Hey all

We’re thinking about making another booking at the same CAMC site we are currently staying, and wondered if anyone managed to ask for a better discount booking at the office on site rather than going through the club website? We would like to return in Aug.

Or did you find they would direct you to the website for any discount bookings, and they can’t offer anymore?

I don't think the wardens have any influence or flexibility on pricing.

Still a bit peeved about the price for an extra night when we stayed at CAMC Bolton Abbey in March/April. We'd booked 4 nights long in advance, at £35 per night. And one of those was then discounted back to be 'free'. It's a lovely site and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, but the hot water system failed in the toilets, so there were no showers or washing facilities. Might have hoped for a rebate or voucher. Many people either cancelled or deferred their visit, so it was only 20% full on our last night. All the same, we extended for an extra night, and as I say was a bit peeved that the extra night without hot water cost us £41 and the wardens said they could not do anything about the price generated by the system.

You could try asking the Club for a refund of the day no showers were available, or a voucher agsinst a future nights stay somewhere. Although you might not want to invest time in such a quest. I got a nights full refund from Sir Lenny Henry on account of late night noise from a diverted path around the car park where I was staying.
