There's a really poor review on the Camping Cheques website - gives the site 1.9 out 10 - always worth checking before you check-in anywhere! Especially if you're staying more than just one night.

Thanks Val,have never been on a bad one before and thought as it was so close to the tunnel it would do for a couple of nights.Moved quickly to Val d'Authie and have complained to camping cheques but don't expect much of a reply. Will certainly cheque(pun)the reviews in future.

I know what you mean Dave, and like you we've never found a bad Camping Cheques site, (though there have been some we wouldn't go back to) but this year there seems to be a number of new sites which are not up to their normal 3/4/5 star standard. In the beginning of the organisation there were a lot of Les Castels sites amongst those which accepted Camping Cheques - now there are very few. I wonder whether ACSI - with a much less bureaucratic operational system - is beginning to take the market share??????????????

I see that your text has failed to load Keith.
This is most probably because your web browser is Internet Explorer 9 which, owing to it's outdated coding is not compatible with this website unless you activate the IE compatibility settings manually Click Here for instructions
Better still would be to use a more up to date web browser such as Firefox or Google Chrome

We will be taking an Acsi card next year for sure,as you say Val,some sites have not been to our taste but they have all had high standards before this .I wasn't aware of the reviews before you told me but i'll be more careful in future.

Hi Deli Dave. I've noticed there has been a turnover of Camping Cheques sites, and I have been told by site owners that they don't feel they are getting enough out of belonging to the organisation. They have to wait for their money, and then it is a significantly reduced amount from the cheque value, and they are looking at more profitable sources of income for their sites, such as seasonal pitches and cabins/bungalows. Also with the ACSI system they are paid straight away. When they lose a site they seem to look for a quick replacement, and perhaps this is where the quality drops.

Didnt get a reply to email so rang camping cheques and spoke to a nice lady who had had other complaints ,she is going to contact the french side of the operation to try a get the cheque refused payment, don't hold out much hope but who knows.
