Has anyone had any experience of using the 'gold card' in France/Spain? I am concerned that the card may not be accepted at some cc sites.
 
We've had absolutely no problem with our Gold Card in either France or Spain, for the last five holidays. However, our card is not one with an electronic chip - one of the older 'swipe' type. I'm not sure how many of these exist, since we were amongst the first to sign up, and they were quickly replaced with the 'load your cheques' type. Our's simply validates the paper cheques we have, and saves us filling in all the details - just the Gold Card number.
 
I've used this card (with chip and loaded with 'digicheques') last year in Spain and France without any problem at 7 campings.
