Decided, for many reasons to try a caravan holiday somewhere around lake Garda. After extensive research chose and booked Camping Fornella on the shores of the lake.
OK the 1800km odd drive was , well both interesting and somewhat tiring, we finally arrived. We split the trip into 3 days, sleeping in the parking's of motorway services in our van, still connected to the car. The services we ended up using felt safe, surrounded firstly what seemed like thousands of trucks, then smaller vans, then the odd motorhome some caravans and off course people sleeping in their cars.
Anyway the drive through the Alps from Austria to Italy through the Brenner Pass was both extremely scenic but sadly in our case very heavy traffic due to a motorhome being smashed apart by a truck accident. Around 2 hours delay!
So we arrive at the Park and set up our pitch. My what a lovely site! Although a bit of a hilly place but oh my, beautiful!
Our pitch is spacious has it's own ablutions and luckily in our case rather shady.
On the site there are two swimming pools, a wellness centre, Italian ice cream parlour and literally at the waters edge, a lovely Italian resturant.
3 weeks in heaven to follow. Watch this space.

What a gorgeous place. Be sure to visit Sirmiome and Malcesine (for the cable car). Both can be accessed by ferry.
