Hi,

Could any one please advise if there is any difference between camping gas and calor gas {except for the bottle that is. I want to run a portable barbeque on camping gaz but I do not know if this is possible.

Thanks Chris

Camping Gaz is butane, like Calor Butane, and is interchangeable provided the correct regulator is used.

Hi Christopher, no problem at all. Sometimes if I am going away for just a few days I take off my larger bottles and go off with a couple of camping gas bottles having changed the regulator and use one on the caravan and one for the gas barbie. They are interchangeable.JTS

You can buy an adapter that allows you to use a regulator for a 4.5kg butane calor cylinder on the camping gaz.

2/3rds way down page code : 01-1665

Note, you will need a new regulator than the one that clips onto the 7kg butane cylinder, as this adapter requires the reg that screws on to the smaller butane bottle (4.5kg).

Be aware that Camping Gaz is readily available on the Continent but Calor is not (or it never was a couple of years ago)
