Has anyone stayed at this site, if so are there any comments?

We are considering this site as part of our tour, on our return journey. According to our 2006 edition of the CC guide (Bible?) it seems acceptable but it doesn't have either a web site or an e-mail contact address.

We were looking to stay there Wed. 23rd June to Fri. 25th June before catching the Zeebrugge - Hull ferry on Saturday.

We hope to stock up with goodies at a supermarket in Dieppe or Le Treport so a site in that area would be ideal.

Hi Michael - I found these reviews on another website:

Reviewer: J Glover (7) Date of Visit: August 2009 Unit: Touring Caravan

What a fantastic site! The owners are very friendly and helpful. It's quite quiet, but there is a small bar, a heated swimming pool and a games room. You can hire bikes at a very reasonable rate. If you like to fish, then there is a river running along the site, and the ducks are great fun to feed. There is a really good patisserie about half a mile away, but of course you can buy bread and croissants from the site shop.

The site is about a mile and a half from a beautiful small seaside town of Pourville-sur-mer. There is a long promenade and pebbly beach.

We really love it here and our Caravan is pitched for the 2010 season!

We only stayed two nights here on our way to Brittany, the site entrance is very attractive, you cross over a small river via a wooden bridge, the pitches are on hard standing with grass to the side so that the awning is on the grass.

The first day and night of our stay we had good weather but on the second day we had quite a lot of rain, hence the need for hard standing as the ground near the river turned to a bog.

The site was very clean, tidy and well kept, the toilets were placed central to all the pitches and again were kept clean. There were a couple of supermarkets close by but not within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay and would use the site again as a stop over.

Hope these help.

Thank you both for the information. I have asked them to reserve us a pitch for the dates in June. As I said it's our last few nights before retuning home and we wanted something a bit better than a "Municipal".

We haven't tried "camping cheques" yet. My wife prefers to know exactly where we are to stop for the night each night when we travel abroad. So each stopping place is contacted and a reservation made. Most of our stops are booked through the CC and paid for in advance.

Hi Michael,

I am stopping off at La Source tomorrow for a couple of nights on a slow return to the UK.

Will post my thoughts later in the week. Currently been at La Vallee near Caen for a week. It is a very good site but may be busy later in the season.

Although I have "booked" a pitch it will be good to see a review. Mr. Herve Legrand answered my e-mail written in my apalling French, in perfect English! Makes one feel quite inadequate.

Thanks everyone

La Source is well placed for access to Dieppe and some local beaches but these are generally pebble based.

When we visited (22nd/24th April 2010) the swimming pool was closed but all of the other facilities (children's play area, handball pitch, badminton net, boules court and games machine room) were available, the site office takes orders for bread/ croissants for the next day. The site is maintained to a high standard and the toilets were always immaculate, although some were closed as the site was not fully occupied.

All of the caravan and campervan pitches were recently mown and were also very tidy, pitches were arranged in pairs separated by hedges. We were allocated a pitch facing the river that runs alongside the site and it had paved runners for the caravan and the car. There were some all grass pitches farther down the site toward the railway line (trains run about every
