Maria we had a fortnight there 3 years ago the last 2 weeks in august. It was exceptionally busy for the first week-definatley packed in like sardines.The pitches are just big enough for van and awnings-you have to park your car in front of the van, theyre resonably shady but soft sand, so can be a nightmare manoevering onto also not a lot of room due to the close proxemity of your neighbours opposite. The 2nd week the place emptied as it was the end of the French holidays, likewise the local towns started to ramp down. The site is very busy with entertainment and street sellers, and can be noisey at night. The pool area is fantastic however if your not there by the crack of sparrows for a bed forget it its very popular.The toilet blocks are basic but functional with dish wash facilitys etc. The beach is about a 20 min walk away but is fantastic, we used to go into the village park up and use the beach there. The nearest big supermarket is the Auchan just outside St Nazaire very good and reasonable. Its fairly easy to find we drove from Cherbourg and it took just over 5 hrs with stops. To be honest we're going to the area again but definatley not Le Fief, just too crowded. Anything we can help with give us a shout Neil

thanks for the info Neil,we are going the last week of June so should be a bit quieter then,i have read that a new comercial centre has now been built near by, with a Le Clerc supermarket,we are coming in via Rennes after docking at Calais and stoping overnight probably near Rennes,is the access to the sight faily easy as we have a large van, not twin axle,but could be a problem if the access is restricted,if you want to go a little further south then you could try St Gilles Croix De Vie,we stayed at Le Bahamas Beach, nice sight,although the pool complex was very basic but the town was lovely,and there is a foot path come cycle route all the way taking approx twenty mins to walk at a steady pace, the best beach was the Grand Plage where you would need to use the car,and be parked up by 10.30.am at the latest,hope this may be of interest to you,

Maria we have a bailey Oklahoma and whilst the entrance is ok the pitch lines are seperated by large hedges we found it exceptionally tight to get down-- and I drive artics in my spare time, when they show you to your pitch walk down with them then make your own way there. Watch some of the hedge corners as they have large branches or trunks in them easily rip you van side out. Many thanks for the pointers we are looking at going down to the Pornic area. We found a lovely bar/restaurant when we were there cant remember the name but if you go to the Minden end and walk down the street where they have the evening market from the sea its the last one on the right on a corner seem to remember a red colour scheme good food and very friendly regards Neil
