Camping Les Ecureuils

Hi

Following my previous posting (Help) I have managed to found a small site that will accept my twin wheel caravan.

Has anyone been here before? Any info at all most welcome.

Thanks

Lisa

Hi Lisa

If you mean Camping Les Ecureuils in Jard Sur Mer in the Vendee, we have been there for the last 2 years and will possibly go there again this year.

We really like it. Its a nice size and nice friendly atmosphere and lots of people seem to return year on year. The facilities are good standard, pitches are a variety of sizes and sandy. Don't go there expecting to sun bathe on your pitch because most are so shaded by the trees - you'll get the odd spot of sun but we quite like the foresty atmosphere. Red sqirrels (les ecureuils) drop pine cones on you.

If you are on a pitch by one of the road ways expect to use your first aid kit. Kids (and adults) cycling in to each other seems to be a preferred past time - but the bustle of the site adds to it really.

Jard is a nice enough little town - its not particularly historic or interesting but has a little market and a carousel and a few restaurants - The port area has entertainments in the summer. The beaches are ok but when the tide is out there is a lot of exposed albeit flat 'bed rock'

Hope you enjoy yourselves

Mat
