I am told its a 1967 but that's all the info I have and am unsure if that is 100% correct

Hello Purplebus

When I first saw your pictures of the mystery caravan, the design of the front and rear windows overhanging the lower wall panels struck a chord with me, so I did some google picture searches. Unfortunately whilst I found a manufacture (Thomson) who definitely used the overflying window designs front and back, other key features did not match the information.

However Whilst looking up Thomson, I found a website which seems to carry a lot of information about vintage caravans, including some quite obscure makes.

What I can tell you is, becasue on the front left hand side of the caravan there is an NCC's Approved design sticker, it must have been a production line model of caravan for the UK market.

You might be lucky and find a data plate on the caravans A frame.

I’m pretty sure that it’s a Cygnet (built by Stephens and West) from the 1960’s.

Definitely not a Thomson Ray. The front (and rear) were a slightly different shape and they all had “boat” roofs.

Based on the information Nigel has provided I did a bit more digging and came up with this

However whilst the detail design cue's of the exterior compare perfectly with ThepurpleBus's pictures, the form is different.

Firstly the front NS window in the video sits further back, and the rear view shows the large and small windows positions reversed.

Now assuming the video is accurately describing the Cygnet 9, then Purple Bus's model is different, but I think the manufacturer is beyond doubt.

The video could be a very useful resource if the plan was to renovate the caravan.

It’s a different layout. The OP’s pictures suggest a ‘traditional’ 2-berth end-kitchen layout, with offside toilet compartment. The one in Andy’s video is a 4(?)-berth model with a side kitchen, rear nearside loo, front bunk(s) and a rear offside double bed. Still a Cygnet 9’ I’m assured.
