Can anyone recommend a good set of towing mirrors.

When I bought the current mirrors I use when towing the van, they are cheap and cheerful ( £5 each ) but they are really are rubbish. I can see anything when I am travelling as they are bouncing all over the place.

Can anyone recommend a set.

Marc, I use the Milenco mirrors, and they are really good.

I have the type which attach to the rim of the wing mirror with 2 crew clamps and a strap and clip which adds extra security and steadiness.

Hi Marc. I had the same problem so I invested in some SMAT mirrors. They fix onto the actual door and don't move or vibrate. They are not cheap but you get what you pay for. I got mine off Ebay for

Marc, I use the Flat mirror type, as they give you a view "as it is", not distorted as the convex ones do, which make traffic appear closer than it actually is.

As Dave said the "Suck It & See" mirrors are very good. I only bought one to put on the offside of the car because I found it dificult to adjust. Now I can adjust it from inside the car with the mirror adjustment switch. Will be buying another before our next outing for the drivers side. I think they cost about

Hi,

I use Milenco with a flat on the driver side and convex on the passenger side. I cannot use the starp on the 4x4 but with the calmps they are rock steady and allow full movement of the cars own electric mirrors. Milenco say the strap is only an added safeguard and the clamps are designed to be used on their own.

I have used Milenco ones on my Citreon for a while - they are a bit fiddly to fit but give a good view.

They would not fit on my new Astra as the couling of the mirror was to thick to fit the brackets on so I have new ones from Towsure - they are the same design but come with two sets of brackets - one for thicker mirrors like mine.

I have used the Milenco ones (flat and convex on their web site) for four years on two cars, including an old vectra. Excellent in all respscts but buy some spare rubber pads as you'll lose at least one!
