Can you recommend a ground sheet?

We've recently bought our first caravan and it's come with a full awning but no groundsheet. Would you be able to advise which type we should buy - I understand a lot of sites request a breatheable one? Help!
 
Hi Hazel.

You are quite right to be looking for a braethable ground sheet. These are the prefered option by sites these days.

We have just bought a woven nylon groundsheet fron towsure. It is approved by the caravan clubs etc. To look at it you would think it is solid, so hopefully we won't have grass growing through like we had with the open weave groundsheets.

We are currently on a gravel hard standing, and I have put a blue plastic tarpauline underour new groundsheet to keep it clean. This is an acceptable practice for hard standings.

You will find some are open weave which certainly allows the grass to breath, but after rainfall they become wet to the tread, and in really adverse conditions the mud just oozes up the holes. Then you've the wonderful job of hosing and brushing when you get home. If the grass is good I'd sooner not bother but perhaps take a small piece to use as a doormat ourside the van!
