Dale, try Kingsbury Water Park CCC site. The canal is just down the road from the site and if you fancy a walk then take the tow path to the Dog and Doublet pub at the side of the canal.Bazz.
 
you could give Cambrian cruisers a look its on page 529 of the CC sites directory , lovely CL site by the marina and canal with views of the mountains in Brecon national park ,you can walk or cycle into Brecon ,which takes you along the aquaduct which crosses the river Usk, if you do phone them ,call after 6pm as they are working in marina during the day

There is a campsite in Rowde nr Devizes, that is on the banks of the Kennet & Avon canal.

This site is by the famous Caen Hill Locks, where there are 29 locks in the space of 2 miles. There is a wide shingle based path that runs alongside and also a pub/resturant on the side of the canal,
