cant get this part anywhere!

i have an ageing (1986) carver water pump/heater. it has a frost drain, the screw in bung/tap is plastic with 4 holes moulded into the threads so you dont have to fully remove the screw bung just 1/2 way out and the holes are revealed and water drains out, ingenious i think youlle agree, sadly the holes design weakens the thread and you guessed it, the top sheared off leaving the threads inside, got em out, bouled down to local cara shop for a quick replacement and they are like rocking horse !"£$% says the chap, changed the design in 1987 cos they shear off (he,s right they do!!) anyone know of a supplier or maker of said bung or a viable sturdy alternative?

should have got a tent shouldn,t i!!

Are you referring to the drain that you unscrew from outside the 'van? The one about 1" in diameter with the rubber O ring fitted? If so, I'm not so sure he is right, because I had that system on my last 'van, a 1998 Award Daystar.

Richard, go to your local plumbers merchants and get a 1/2" BSP Flanged Stop End, and with the normal 'O' ring will provide a suitable replacement drain plug.
