cant get tv workin

hi we have a 1996 avondale but twice we have been on camp site at skegness and cant get tv to work just sayin no signal with caravan arieal do we need to do something different or go out an buy a new areial or set up we have also tried a indoor freeview ariel which we use at home in bedroom and still get nothing

Lee First and foremost have you done a complete scan on your TV.Im no trying say anything funny but you will have to a retune when you go into different TV regions. Go to menu settings and do a full retune and remove all excisting channels . I cant remember what coverage we had in Skeggy but just have a look which way other caravan and home aerials are facing and go from there .
Sir Roger.

Will either your roof aerial or your side digital one turn so that it is tunred through sideways on. It maybe that Skeggy is having TV signals pumped in from an antenna elsewhere.

This might seem a bit silly but check that the button or switch on your remote control is set to digital.
Check that the signal booster switch is on.
Does the tv work through the caravan aerial again when you are back home?

Sometimes a re-tune is not sufficent on our TV, I use the menu button and go further into the menu and look for the
First time installation section I then follow the promps ie; select English then Digital.
Hope this helps.

There's "stacks" of signal at Skeg' (Mast - Belmont - is approx. 25 miles NE of you), if your digital telly or box is in order you shold have no problem. I suspect if you are getting no signal - but your telly appears to be searching ok - then you probably have a continuity problem on your aerial lead(s).

hi Lee, I agree with the previous contributors, it sounds like an equipment problem. lincolnshire is pretty flat so there is nearly allways a signal from Belmont, we have been to Skeg mablethorpe and boston, all have had good signals.
seeing as how it says "no signal" suggests a set up problem, because even if the arieal was the wrong orientation and pointing in the wrong direction you should get something,

It may be a fault in the wiring from the booster to you're outlet where you plug you're tv into ,to check this you can unplug the wire that comes out of the booster that feeds the sockets that you use to plug you're tv into, then using the lead you use to connect the tv to you're socket outlet, connect the tv directly into the booster ,if you then get success you will know you have a fault in you're wiring.
