I will be in europe for 7 months. Does anyone know of an insurance company who will cover me for this length of time? I am going bug eyed trawling the computer only to find that they only go up to the usual 90 days. The cc does 185 days but that is not enough.

take the cover for 185 days, and buy another cover to run after the first cover runs out for the remaining days or weeks you need.

Look at ADAC they have excellent cover and service for Europe inc. the UK fo €98.70 for period of 12 months. We have been with them for 5 years , used them twice for Car in Germany and Caravan in France. Could not fault them. More info on website below in my signature.

if it is purely breakdown cover you need, then I can heartily endorse Dianne t's recommendation. Dianne put me on to ADAC two years ago, and aside from some minor difficulty with the language difference on set-up, I too find them very good.
I have only used them once, in Dresden, and the truck picked me up within twenty minutes of my first phone call.
Not only that, but when we arrived at the main dealers to get the car repaired, the dealer at first refused, because the car is old.
ADAC, in no uncertain terms, pointed out that the badge on my car was the same as the logo on their wall, therefore they WOULD repair the car. They did, and reasonably priced too.
And, of course there is the added advantage of the ridiculously low fee. When I asked how they could give such marvellous cover for such little money, the young lady on the phone said that 17million members generates an awful lot of revenue!
Oh, and cover is worldwide too.
I have no connection with this company, other than as a very satisfied customer, just about to renew for the third time.
