Ever since I started to shod the cars with all seasons I’ve not really had any opportunity to test them on real snow, just the occasional slush. And that’s about in your timescale. Even the Beast from the East wasn’t an opportunity as we were in the Forest of Dean and stayed local to the site by going on nice walks. We had a major heatwave two years ago.
It seems a couple of decades since we've had a proper winter!

I lived in Berkhamsted Herts until 2019 and I well remember stuck cars in the snow on the A41 with me breezing down the outside lane courtesy of my all season tyres and 4x4. I wouldn't fit anything else now apart from on my Z3 that's in the garage from October to March. All season might be needed in God's Country, near Monymusk in Scotland. But not in RMK.
Apparently the new thing is those snow socks as they don't damage the road? I wonder if they are really efficient in snow?I have planned similar, forget the All season tyres, weather down here, in Buckinghamshire hasn't been that bad. So normal Summer tyres.

Looking at YouTube tests they do work well, but they are not long lasting so have to be removed once you are on your way.Apparently the new thing is those snow socks as they don't damage the road? I wonder if they are really efficient in snow?
