The wife and I are planing a 1 year tour of europe. Can anyone help as to where to get insurance for this sort of trip. At the moment we can only get 180 day cover, then we have to come back to this country.
thanks keith. I'll give them a go. We already have health insurance. It's motorhome insurance we need.Acquaintances of ours are two thirds of the way through a 3 year tour of Europe(!). As far as I know, they take out travel/health insurance with Saga and just need to return to the UK once every twelve months to renew it.
We also are interested in insurance aspects of extended touring - see other threads in this forum.
Thanks for that. I will return to this country before it's due. not a problem regarding mot.Legal UK car tax may be more of a problem for you.
If your car is 3years+ when you are away you will need to return to UK for an MOT (you cannot have this done on a UK car whilst abroad).
Without this you cannot get Road Tax.
Not a problem if your car is less than 3 years old.
house hold insurance is not a problem for us, as we're selling our house. then going to europe. thanksHousehold insurance is also a problem and may be a limited to a specific number of days.
Mine for example is 70 days that I may leave the house at one go.
