Car Flasher Unit

Hi Everyone

For the second time in less than 2 years the flasher unit in my Nissan X-Trail (2006) has failed. This is the combined flasher / buzzer unit that was fitted when I had the towbar fitted. I don't want to get another one from the towbar company as they only fit this one make which is obviously unreliable and don't keep them in stock. I can't read the make, only that it was made in Slovenia and is 12volt / 2+1 / 6 x 21W.

Does anyone know of a good online / mail order source ?

On my X-Trail (07) the tow bar and buzzer wiring just taps into the car wiring, using the cars original flasher unit.

No problems up to now.

My 2004 xtrail had the buzzer in the boot, the flasher was standard and i had no problems.

With the 2009 model i had the nissan vehicle specific loom fitted, this uses the cars standard flasher unit, no buzzer.

I must admit i found the noise in the boot from the buzzer quite reassuring.

Thanks for your replies. The unit that was fitted in mine was in place of the original flasher which, of course, doesn't buzz. Thankfully I had kept the original unit which I have put back in but I need to get something to replace it before we next go out with the 'van in 2 weeks.
