Have any of you heard the rumour going round regarding a discount
on Vehicle Motor Tax on certain vehicles for caravan owners.
Evidently it would work by your insurance company issuing you a
certificate when you insure a caravan. This certificate would certify that you are the legal owner of an insured caravan. The certificate would be forwarded to the Vehicle Licensing department in Cardiff who would check to see if your vehicle qualifies for the discount and if it does, issue you with a certificate to the value of the discount.
It would appear that only genuine 4x4 offroaders would qualify, The Government sees this as a way of not penalising caravanners for owning a 4x4 that they need for towing as opposed to the Posers and Sloan SquareRangers. Details I have been told are at,
