If I understand things correctly you are not a member of the CC. I don't wish to sound rude but you are in danger of showing a bias towards the C&CC in your comments.'

Hi David

Christopher who opened this topic asked about the differences between the two clubs and stated in a subsequent post that he sometimes felt that his children are not really welcome on CC sites.

Christopher also stated that from what he has read the C&CC seems a bit more family orientated.

The C&CC is often compared unfavourably with the CC for a variety of reasons on this and other caravan forums David, indeed within this topic the facilities of the C&CC are compared unfavourably with those of the CC.

Everyone on a forum is allowed an opinion David and my musings on this matter are intended to convey to Christopher and anyone else who is considering joining the C&CC of which I'm a member the differences that I've noticed both by visiting sites belonging to both clubs (although I haven't stayed on CC sites) and by reading the posts submitted by members of both clubs to this and other caravan forums.

Any apparent bias toward the C&CC is unintentional or at least not intended to be malicious and I haven't attempted to suppress or deny other points of view in any way, all that I have done is to use reasoned debate to try to show that Christopher might like to try the C&CC in spite of the bias often shown against the C&CC by members of other organisations.

As I stated earlier I have great respect for the CC and it's members but as a C&CC member I have every right to recommend the Camping and Caravanning Club to Christopher.

I had meant to add that if my comments have opened up the debate in any way then that is the purpose of forums, in this way those who seek information will have access to a wide range of opinion.

Well thanks for the replys, I did not realise this was such a hot topic!!!

Update - we have now joined the C&CC and will be going to St Neots for our first site. The only problem so far is not being able to book a one night with hook up, this is a problem as I never get home from work before 7pm. Now having 2 young boys who are also Autistic their TV is very important to them, so hook up is then important to us. Now for one night in the better weather (fingers crossed) should not be a problem.

Ok so far so good, the reason I asked about the differences between the sites was from our first few experiences.

We joined the CC and our first site was Sandringham, what a lovely site and a great play area for the kids. We spent most of our time walking on the great beaches etc. We will be returning there again. Then we tried to book Ferry Meadows. On the 3rd time of trying we got in. Now when we arrived we were not aware that there is 2 sides to the site. We were directed to the hard standing side. Now after a walk around the site with the boys to find the play area on the other side, we did get the impression that we were on the wrong side of the road and a few curtains did twitch when we were walking back to our van. We will know better for next time.

The C&CC thought came about after a walk through the woods at Sandringham and the walk took us next to the C&CC site which just seemed more relaxed and family orientated.

Hence the question.

Thanks for all the replys

Nic
