Caravan Club site at Southport

Hi Neil, as there has been no reply to your posting yet I will try to give you a brief review. I have never stayed at the site but I live close by to it and most days I take my dog for a walk in the park next door to it. It seems a quiet well run site well laid out and in a good setting, the town centre is 5 minutes walk away and the beach is 5 minutes the other way, theres a children's play area in the park next door and a good dog walk. maybe Tina could describe the local shopping better than I can, have a good time, Roy

Thank you very much for your answer Big Roy.

Hi Neil

Have been in the grounds of the cc site and it is as you'd expect, clean and tidy etc..dont know about the shower block, but as Big Roy says there is PLENTY to do!

As for shopping well Having three kids I dont get to go out there and do any for me!!! But there;s TONS of shops for whatever you want! You didnt mention if you had children with you or not but either way you'd have a great time(lots of nice restaurants!)Weather pending!!!!!

Big Roy,are you talking about victoria park, where is the play area in there?? went with my little girl as someone else said there was one but I couldnt find it!!! πŸ™‚someone said by the boating lake??

Hi kanga

Only yesterday you were asking Denise to stroke your furry pouch!an I thought we had somat special you two-timer !!!!πŸ™‚

Just an add on to the rest, Don't take any groceries with you to save weight. There is a large Morrisons store not 10 min walk away and they also have a cafe for Breakfast etc at reasonable cost. Formby beach, 15 min drive is better than Southports and the sea is nearer. There is also the Red Squirrel Reserve managed by the National Trust and loads of sand dunes to explore. Great for the kids and dogs.

P.S I havn't stayed at the site but visit the area quite often living less than 30 miles away and have only walked around the site with a view to a visit at some time.

Hi Tina, sorry for the delayed reply I've been away for the weekend, the play area is next to the boating lake and the model railway track.

AAH!! thanks, only walked as far as the restaurant before now!!

We were at this site last June and found it guite good. As others have said it is only a short walk to the nearest supermarket and the main shopping area is approx 1/2 mile away. The only downside to the site was the shortage of water points. There was only two points for the whole site and unless you were lucky enough to get a space near to a point, it was a fair old walk. Also if the wind blows make sure your awning is securely tied down.

Hi We have stayed on the Southport site and love it. You are tucked neatly away if you want a quiet stay but are in walking distance of Southport and the beach but.... very close by is a park and ride, which worked out free for us and you just paid for car parking (which we didn't need) then got on the bus into Southport and Lord St which is a great shopping area. We went back at Christmas time and did out Christmas shopping. I am sure you will like it. Regards Linda
