Caravan covers

My elderly neighbour has damp in his caravan and does not have access to covered storage.As the awning rails will need to be re-sealed and this not being the weather to tackle a job like this ,I wondered if any members have experience with caravan covers .If they keep out the rain then it would be a temp measure until next year and we get some dry weather and I would be able to help him do the repair.Once the rails are sealed we can then tackle the repairs inside the van...not a job I am looking forward to but he is retired and cannot afford dealer repair prices......any comments appreciated

I wondered if a cover would hold back the worst until weather permits work to be done (He cannot afford a dealer to fix it).

you could get a big sheet from the diy stores to save a few pound

It's probably ideal to use a breathable cover - then on the odd dry day - water vapour could find it's way out of the damp van - especially if you have a heater in the van (greenhouse electrical type)

Breathable covers are quite expensive, except that Towsure are in the middle of the "exhibition" month and are offering a discount and a deal on p&p. http://www.towsure.com/default.asp?t=6297

Measure the offending caravan and buy one of their generic breathable covers.

thanks once again for your input,what you say makes sense,I spotted a breathable,waterproof cover on e-bay but it is actually supplied by a company only 10 mls from where we live,so I am taking my neighbour t'moro to check it out.
