caravan covers

Caravan Covers, do they work, are they hard work to put on! thinking about getting one, any body got one, had one, for or against views please, what is it about putting tennis balls on the corners, which corners, or did i dream that bit from another magazine,

We had a Protec cover on our last Eriba, it was quite easy to out on - remembering that the Eriba is a pop-top and is about 18" lower than yours with the roof down.

We didn't buy one for our new, slightly bigger Eriba because:

1. The covers (in general) have a 3 year guarantee, our cover was in a sad state after 2 years. And friends have had covers fail in 4 years - sun light degradation.

2. I'm 6ft and Brenda is 5ft2; and by using brooms to position and lift the cover, it was just OK on the old Eriba. We would need to use steps for the new Eriba.

3. You still need to clean the van, especially the roof, once you take the cover off, surprising what accumulates or grows underneath.

And the Eriba doesn't have any Status aerials or anything else to snag the cover.
