Caravan door opening

Can anybody tell me why a caravan door has its hinges on the right hand side instead of the left. Surely the hinge should be on the left as when towing the caravan the wind slipping past and if the door is not closed properly there will be no damage. Where as the hinges on the right If the door is slightly ajar when travelling the wind could open door and rip it off.

Has this scenario of a door being ripped off ever happened?
All the caravan door catches I have seen/had experience of are VERY good at the task required of them.
As the majority of people are right handed having the catch on the right hand side of the door when exiting makes perfect sense to me (But I am right handed of course)

With the exception of some early rear kitchen models the door tends to be just aft of the front lounge area. Thus a left hinge door will open covering half the front side window , possibly smashing if opened when windy. Not a good idea 😎
