caravan door seal replacemennt

please can someone give me some advice, i am trying to replace the complete main door seal on my 1997 abi marauder. on removing the seal it appears along the bottom there is a strip that protects rhe seal from being damaged as you walk in which is held in with 4 rivets. unfortunately i cant get at the rivets to drill them out & it seams that i have to remove the door frame as they are lower than floor level on the inside.

the door frame is held in with a series of screws all the way around & some on the more stressed points near the hindges .

does this seem like a fairly straight forward repair or am i getting in to deep for the average diy'er.

many thanks

Andy

My husband changed all the rubber around our Elddis 2004 door. I can remember him doing something with the door trim. He's in work at the moment, when he gets in I will ask him how he went about it. Remember he's no specialist just a DIY man.

It should be fairly easy, as i have only just this last week taken the whole of my door and frame out to reseal. Are you on about the black seal which you can see from inside the van when the door is shut. If so it is a big job, but if it is the out side seal you will need to buy some re'seal from your nearest dealer which is around
