Caravan fridge

It is a 2004 Dometic fridge in a Lunar caravan. First it packed up on electric but worked okay on gas for awhile. Now the gas side has gone out and if you try an get it going all you get is the yellow light flashing and it does not stay on.

In 3 years we have hardly every used the gas side of the fridge and if so only for a short while. Gas supply is no problem as all other gas appliances work.

If one removed the vent at the bottom on the outsdie of the caravan, can one see this burner and if so, how does one go about cleaning it without having to remove it. can you use a small wire brush or perhaps something like a needle but not actually a needle to clean it?

Ian, to clean the burner it needs removing, which means breaking a gas joint, which means having a qualified person to do it.

DO NOT, under any circumstances use a wire brush or any needle type object on any part of the burner.

Thanks,I was hoping that it could be a DIY job. However if the fridge has hardly been used on gas, would thsi be the problem?

Ian, the fact that the fridge has had little use on gas may be exactly the problem, I would guess that a spider has built a nest in the burner jet area and the venturi is blocked, or the flame tube is blocked similarly.

I would seriously consider a proper service to get it all back working again.
