Seems like Guy's GPS has failed and he has become lost! Maybe his company need to track his whereabouts. I believe that Tracker now offer a discount to do this. :)

Its Guy here, have just found myself,I wondered where I had gone, but now I know. very good Jimbo,

Sorry I havent replied to any posts, have been rushed off my feet setting up the launch at the NEC next week. We have a stand in hall 9 and I will be posting all the details in the next couple of days. We will be launching with a special show price and this has taken alot of sorting out.

As you are aware we were aiming originaly at a car market, so we have had to develop and refine features that are relevant and beneficial to the caravan and motorhome market.

I will be posting everything on Thursday this week.

Ok I understand.

The show offer won't be on the website, but all the other details will be. The website will be revealed live on Monday (still keeping everything hush hush until the last min, as with any product launch, don't want to alert the competition until the last moment.)

Hope it doesn't break any rules to invite the people who have contributed to this post to come and see me, ask for me on the stand and I will do my best to impress you.

No rules are broken by inviting people Guy.

It might be worth while contacting the magazine to try to get a product review or some sort of write up.

They like to look at new products and have done articles from topics which first appeared on this forum in the past.

Dear Parksy

Thanks for your comments and I will be taking it up with a number of mags in due course. Russell who posted earlier in the string, indicated that he would like his details passed to me if possible, I have a couple of spare show tickets and wanted to talk with him about this, is it possible for you to give him my details as I am not sure about the rules on posting email or telephone details on here. I am aware that you are not an introduction agency and understand if its not possible.

Found the website - skytag-gps.co.uk

No, I don't have anything to do with the company!
Take care, they say on the web site and leaflets handed out at the NEC "No contract", this means they can legally walk away from their customers at anytime. They also had no products on their stall either, other tracker companies and suppliers had theirs on view??????

Hi Guy from Skytag ltd here.

In reply to David's comments, the term "no contract" means there is no tie-in or locked term contract period, our T&Cs are our contract with our customers so we cannot "walk away" as you put it. It also means the unit is transferable and not tied to a vehicle. With regards to the product on show, had you come to the stand and spoken with us, you would have been shown the covert unit as was everyone who purchased one or was interested. I don't know which manufacturers were displaying their covert units, as the other large GPS Tracker exhibitor's, who also visited our stand, weren't. If you need clarification on any of this please dont hesitate to call me directly on my mobile. 07960 511154

Hi Guy,

Do you have any more info on the GPS jammers yet, or are you still working on that one?

many thanks

Chris

"On to the question from Chris.. GPS jammers.

We have purchased 3 that are easily available. 2 had no impact on our unit at all. The locator doesn't transmit any GPS signals, so it just interferes with its reception. The third more expensive unit worked very well and stopped the unit receiving satellite data. However we have as part of the features I can't talk about as yet, found a way to combat this".

Hi Chris

The GPS jammer resolution is not a simple issue and I am not sure we will find a total fix. We can fall back on tracking the unit via GSM cell info, but this is slower and this gets us to 200-500 metres, not spot on, but not bad. However we have done further tests and the best blocker unit we have tested is still very localised with a 3 metre radius blocking range.

Ok to block in most cars, but not so effective in caravans or large motor homes. The blocker still doesn't help the thief find the unit, so when it's slightly larger than a cigarette packet it becomes even more difficult. As soon as the blocker is turned off, we get a signal in less than 30 seconds. Again as this is a self fit unit everyone will put it somewhere different making it even harder to find. North Wales police informed us last week that they had seen a couple of manufacturer fitted units being removed by going straight through the vehicle skin, prior to moving the vehicle, so if they don't know where it is then all the better.

Will keep you updated as we progress

Guy
