caravan kettles

Strangely, the cheaper the better. The more expensive kettles are usually fast boil and as such have an appetite for amps. The cheap ones as a rule tend to require more time to boil, as they have less powerful heating elements. Just take a look at your local electrical store and compare the wattage on the kettles, the lower the better. You don't need a specific "caravan kettle" on most sites, but there are always exceptions to the rule unfortunately, just check up before you go to find out the output of the hook-up.
 
Your best bet is to go to a caravan dealer and buy a low wattage one to avoid having to switch other things off before boiling water.

They are usually 750W to 1000W .

Ours is cordless and the base is stuck down with velcro so that the kettle is permanently in place and the kettle sits on the base even on tow.

Ring do one I think but your dealer will have a few on display and its just a matter of what you like the look of !!
 
B***er the low wattage at huge prices cos they're specially designed for camping!! Just got to an electrical super store find a kettle with a 360 degree swivel base plate (much easier to use than trying to plug in or accuratley position on a fixed position), and rated at no more than 2000 watts. You will only use 8 to 10 amps max to run is so just don't have the fan heater going when you put the kettle on. They boil much quicker and can make tea for 6 no 3 then do it all again by which time the first lot are ready for a re-fill.
 
Also do not go abroad where many sites are only 6amps and ignore CC and C & CC notices about limiting use during peak periods.

Also be ready to go cap in hand to an irate warden when you trip out his under rated supply.

Considering the outlay on a caravan a low wattage kettle is not a lot of money.

I agree with John G,nothing more embaeeassing than having to go explain to the warden that you have tripped the electric because you couldnt be bothered to use the correct equipment

We have a low wattage Russell Hobbs travel kettle. Its very good. Perhaps looking at travel kettles is a good idea as they have less powerful elements,being smaller overall.
