Just curious. I thought it was a 'no,no' to use the steadies to level the van. This should be done using the wheels and jockey wheel before using the steadies to do exactly that...steady the van. The webpage does not seem to give any info on what to do on sloping sites.

There is a mechanical device on the market that slots around the downside wheel. This can be wound to elevate the wheel and therefore level the caravan.

Totally agree with what you say S L but this firm have been marketing the product for a number of years .

I would have thought that wedges should be used to level across the axle at least.

From memory ones I have seen at the shows have a motor fixed on to the inner end of the steady screws.

I do not think that Alko etc would entertain any warranty claims on the chassis.

Hello Duncan

Perhaps I am missing the point (being a woman!) but what is wrong with wooden blocks? We have used this method for years and have had no problems!

thank you all for the input, seems to have answered a few of my questions, i was under the impression that you just pressed a button and hey presto van levels itsef up,i have heard from caralevel today at long last, and they inform me that blocks would still probably be needed if canver is more than 3', in reply to anns remark, there's nothing wrong with levelling manually with blocks, it's just that i am so lazy, and i like gadgets........lol........once again thank you everyone.
