caravan lights on the blink

hi all.just had a new towbar and electrics fitted to a 03 vectra, plugged electrics in and i have both indicators working but lights on 1 side of the van dont work,im hoping its just a bulb issue but im worried theres a bigger prob.the van was fine last season but not now, help please

Lee, first thing to check is the 12N plug, make sure all the connections are secure and not corroded.

Open up the pins in the plug with a small flat bladed screwdriver and give both plug and socket a good clean with electrical contact spray.

DO NOT use WD40 as it will initially disperse any water, but after 40 days will attract water and absorb it, hence its name, WD(water dispersal) 40 (40 days)

thanks for that m8,will try that, fingers crossed, the black plug is the 12N i take it,is this a fairly common prob.

same thing happened to me, turned out that there are two wiring diagrams, on the latest one 2 wires are reversed, hence light not working correct.

If there is a big difference in ages, could just be the different drawings.

As a side note WD40 stands for Water Displacement 40th Formula as the inventor Norm Larsen created the correct mixture on his 40th attempt.
