Air beam for awning

Would i work if I swapped my air beam bladder (that is leaking) with an adjustable shower pole? In thinking put the pole in the zip bladder beam bag lock in to the size then use as i wud have done with air beam. I accept there will be no flexibility but as the beam only really stabilises the roof this shouldn't be a problem?
 
The only thing I can see is possibly denting side of caravan and with wind movement,and gradually the ends of the pole wearing though the fabric at the end of tube pockets,unless you pack each end with thick foam.
 
I agree. The shower pole may well hold the awning up but the junction between it and the van or between it and the awning fabric may cause a problem.
Don’t know what awning you have but our Vango Rapide ( hoop air bladder at the front with a separate straight air beam across the roof, between hoop and van side) works perfectly well without the roof beam.

If its just a puncture then airbags can be repaired prety easily using the correct repair kit (Amazon etc)
I had a seam fail on my driveaway awning and I got that repaired. Sadly I am away from home for several weeks so cannot tell you the name of the company. If you ring Outdoor Leisure spares they are the ones who put me onto the repairer. New beam was £96 (out of stock for many months) repair was £28 inc postage
