We have a riversway easi move motor mover which has started with a really loud grinding noise. When we just took caravan to be serviced we mentioned this. They have looked at it and said the bearings have gone on it. They have tried to get a replacement one only to find they have stopped making these, the company no longer does them. I’ve tried to look on line for replacement without any look. Apart from buying a new mover does anyone have any good ideas. Would be very much appreciated any help.
Thanks
Sandra

You could try a caravan breakers or EBay Gumtree. Alternatively try the EBay Gumtree or Caravan Club classifieds for another pre owned make and swop the movers.

Remove a bearing, it will have a number (perhaps alphanumeric) on it, take it to a bearing supplier and they will match it, highly unlikely that they will not be able to do so.

Surprisingly cheap too.

Edit, lots of companies out there, like this: https://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI7uD7wI-C4QIVTpPtCh36LA0fEAAYAyAAEgI7PfD_BwE

But I would prefer to take my faulty bearing to a local bearings dealer (might cost a couple of quid more) for peace of mind that I have the bearing positively identified.

Agree with comments about bearing supplier. Most manufacturers use third party bits like bearings etc. Almost certain the outside one has gone. Have you looked to see if replacement rollers are available as they usually come with bearing.

Hi, that's a devil isn't it? I'd say, unless you have a good working mechanical background and some pretty specialist tooling including a work bench and vice, start looking for a mobile mechanic or mechanical friend who's got the 'Knack'.
On the bearings, go for SKF and stay away from cheap stuff from the East! As with all these things, cheap isn't good......cheap is just cheap! These gearboxes are loaded highly and forced often exceed the material strength claimed by rubbish counterfeit part manufacturers. Last word, get 'Sealed Bearings'. These motor movers are exposed to all of gods wonderful delights down there behind the car.....
